Review of The Mission (1986) by Maximiliano D — 19 Jan 2013
This movie had a lot of potential, but couldn't pull it off visually or narratively.
Winner of the 1986 Palme D'Or, this film starred Robert De Niro as a mercenary who used to enslave Indians who turned into a Priest trying to defend them.
The Portuguese government takes over Spanish territory in South America and thus want to take over the Indians and make them slaves, a battle ensues, and many lives are lost...
Just an okay film, could have been better.
