Review of The Mirror Crack'd (1980) by Maxime B — 18 Mar 2008
I have to say it: it's not very good. I own the dvd. I watch it. I do this out of devotion to the incomparable cast of actors, especially my favourite, Angela Lansbury (she is an international treasure - oh, yes, she is!). It is, though, a pretty lacklustre film and a not very good translation of the book.
We don't care about that, though, do we? We just want to see the great old Hollywood stars do their thing - no matter how bad it is. That's what we call devotion or fandom or whatever you want to call it. But the truth is that devotion or fandom is the only reason to watch this movie.
