Review of The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1944) by Nikolus Z — 10 Jun 2009
Despite Preston Sturges being such a renowned slap stick comedy director he manages to make these films about much more than the laughs. This movie from 1944 is a perfect example. When Trudy Kockenlocker (Betty Hutton) finds herself 'married' and with child after an accidental souse filled evening at a military dance she tries everything to make things right.
Betty Hutton is precious and Eddie Bracken is a hilarious addition as her beua and potential savior. This a great before its time political comedy that every film lover should see.
