Review of The Mill and the Cross (2011) by Curtis J — 01 Oct 2011
A lot to say , what to say. I love the idea of exploring Breughel's painting as a story. I hope the director has plans to make more movies of this kind. I hope the Polish film institute funds him up the wazoo.
I would live to see Raphael's School of Athens or Velazquez's Las Meninas portrayed this way.( I don't ask for much culturally) Ironically the scathing indictment of Brueghel's painting towards Spain and the Church are what Velazquez upheld.
