Review of The Midnight Meat Train (2008) by Seventh S — 19 Sep 2009
I was highly entertained by this Clive Barker short story turned feature length film. A high moment for me was when the protagonist, Leon, dons some butcher tools as battle armor to face the antagonist, Mahogany.
Their arena: the train. Mahogany's weapon a heavy silver mallet, an original killing weapon in a genre, where we've seen it all. The movie builds to a truly surprise ending that takes the film from your typical horror film to something that's truly different and well done.
