Review of The Midnight Meat Train (2008) by David N — 24 Nov 2012

Dark, grungy, and unpleasant, Midnight Meat Train is not a feel good movie. In fact, it's almost too bleak and depressing. I also feel as though the explicit gore in this movie actually passed out of the realm of good taste.

It seemed too over the top and rather repulsive. There were some nice performances, but it's a shame that this movie's intense graphic violence couldn't be handled more tastefully. Overall, this was not an enjoyable movie to watch, and the ending leaves you scratching your head - but in a unanswered-questions, deus-ex-machina, I-don't-understand-what-just-happened sort of way.
