This is the worst Baumbach I've watched. He seems to get worse as years pass. These characters are a joke. Good actors, terrible material. Squid and the Whale was so poignant and uplifting in its own way.
The story was strong even if the parents were so solipsistic. Jess Eisenberg held it all together. Even Greenberg at least felt like somebody confronting his own demons in a realistic manner. These characters feel like caricatures.
How depressing.
