Review of The Mexican (2001) by Miikka O — 20 Apr 2009
Well, I'd say the biggest problem with The Mexican is that it tries too much to be something. The end-result is then a bit forced and to some extend overly complicated without a purpose. Pitt does okay, so does Roberts, but it's Gandolfini and Hackman to deliver the best performances.
The story itself is pretty okay, but the movie fails a bit to balance between different kind of elements of the story. Visuals are believable and musical score is okay, but still in the end you sometimes feel the movie is not moving forward at all.
Still, it's not a bad movie and if you like Pitt or Roberts, you might enjoy it nevertheless.
