Review of The Mexican (2001) by Nicola W — 22 Feb 2011
I was actually quite pleased by this film. Gore Verbinski's directorial style was efficiently used along with this clever script from J.H. Wyman. The plot was solid and intriguing, with well balanced twists and turns.
I admired those little wild west-style scenes portraying the origin of the pistol very much. The script was filled with witty dialogues, I thought Julia Roberts as an overemotional hostage and James Gandolfini as a homosexual killer made a unique combination.
The sets were well set-up, the scenes staged in Mexico all looked great. All-in-all it was a very entertaining movie and is worth a viewing.
