Review of The Mexican (2001) by Jay L — 27 Nov 2011
"When you truly love someone, when does the time come when enough is enough?
A firecracker of an action-adventure from Director Gore Verbinski (Pirates Of The Carribbean, The Weather Man). A snappy comedy that's funny as hell for the entire duration. The Mexican is a kooky crime drama with a romantic twist, a highly enjoyable south of the border adventure that's seriously intriguing and endlessly entertaining. It's a laugh a minute bloody screwball tour de force of clip-emptying intensity and laughter, a hilarious film from start to finish. It's "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" meets "Analyze This" and Analyze That". Searingly interesting, fun as hell and a great watch, The Mexican is Gore Verbinski and company at their pre-Pirates of The Carribbean best. It's a great adventure that's full of twists, turns, laughs, thrills, adventure and pure fun, a dynamite romantic comedy crime drama that will keep you guessing throughout.
Brad Pitt is great and shows off his comedic side, one of his funniest performances. Julia Roberts does a side-splitting job as well, she's been better, but this performances is tolerable. James Gandolfini is brilliant, and dishes out nonstop laughs.
