Review of The Messenger (2009) by Pete T — 01 Jul 2010
Excellently acted film. If you have any interest in acting this is a must-see. This could have really been too sappy and/or emotion manipulating. It was an interesting character study of how to handle an extremely hard military assignment, and the unique and unpredictable reactions people have to tragic news.
Kudos to Woody Harrelson (rightly nominated) and Samantha Morton, and also Ben Foster. Steve Buscemi has a nice little cameo role as well.
