Review of The Messenger (2009) by Corey B — 16 Jul 2010
Excellent film from top to bottom, this is what film makers should aspire to with their films. This film works off being very bare with everything, mostly based on 2 characters played by two incredible actors who have to go people's houses to notify them of their child's (soldier) passing.
Unlike most anti war films this doesn't stand on a soap box telling you why it is wrong it merely shows you what war does to the people you never get to see suffer from it, the families of the dead soldiers.
Woody Harrelson never ceases to amaze me in anything he does.
