Review of The Messenger (2009) by Jeff B — 23 Aug 2010
Great film starring Ben Foster as a young army soldier who is assigned to be a member of the casualty notification team and learns the ropes from Woody Harrelson. Itâ??s basically Up in the Air. But in all seriousness, itsâ?? a good movie with some amazing scenes.
The whole cast is excellent, and all of the notification scenes are extremely difficult to watch, though I think Samantha Mortonâ??s had the biggest impact. I felt that the first half was much better than the second half, but itâ??s still an overall great film.
