Review of The Men (1950) by Brian B — 06 Aug 2007
The Men was a very good charactor driven drama, with an outstanding performance by Marlon Brando in his screen debut. Brando plays a man who is struggling to cope with the fact he will never walk again after being paralized in World War II.
This film reminds me in some ways as parts of Born on the Forth of July. Teresa Wright does an adaquet job of playing Brando's fiance, and Everett Sloane does a very good job playing his doctor. The writing is very good as well as Zinnemann's direction.
I'd say this is definately one worth seeing, especially if you're a Marlon Brando fan. Overall 3/4 Stars Grade = B.
