The Meg doesn't pretend to be the next Jaws but it doesn't even strive to be a decent monster thriller. It settles for poor visual effects, lackluster performances, and a dumb plot. Jason Statham is the only decent thing about this movie and he barely had some one-on-one fights with the giant shark.
