You know what? I wasnt expecting War and Peace, or even Jaws. But I watched the Meg with an open mind and heart and wasnt at all disappointed. As a basic, fun action movie it ticked all the boxes I wanted, and there were enough fun bits, albeit slightly contrived, to make me smile.
Like Sahara before it, a film based on a massive best selling book is always gonna divide opinon and cause the illiterati vapours. But at the end of the day, I and all the people with me enjoyed it. And ulitmately, isnt that what entertainments about?
