Review of The Meg (2018) by Colin F — 12 Aug 2018

First if you went to see this movie and expected cinematic genius then you are probably not a very bright person. This movie did what it set out to do: entertain. The acting is good, not great. The dialogue is fair and the movie starts off a little slow.

My one complaint, hence the 4 stars, is that the movie did not have as much action and shark as I would have liked. It had some good suspense scenes but it tried to use the Jaws suspense types a little too much.

Unlike Jaws the shark, with it's sheer size, is what steals the show. Therefore showing more of it is a good thing. Still there is some appropriate comedy, good action scenes, and no SJW/political propaganda in it.

In this day and age asking for anything more would be greedy.. So do not go out of your way to see it, but if it is a rainy day with nothing to do it is worth it.
