Review of The Meg (2018) by Ginak — 14 Aug 2018
Although my family wants me to give this movie a higher rating than I am giving it (they are monster movie fans), I can’t do it. I found this movie very uneven – some parts were good but other parts were incredibly dull.
My family liked “The Meg” so much they are looking forward to “Meg II”!!! My main problem was how uneven the movie is. Some parts (and some of the actors) were pretty good, but other parts/actors were incredibly dull.
The long section that I’ll call “Asian Humor at the Beach” was really boring and not at all funny, but maybe I was in the wrong audience. Let me just say this – The Meg is not Godzilla, King Kong, or any other famous monster.
He/She is also not Jaws, although the film references the Spielberg masterpiece from time to time. Not terrible, but not very good either.
