Review of The Meddler (2016) by Abb J — 04 Jun 2016
The Meddler is a competently done and well-written drama about family, loss, and moving on, and both Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne give solid performances throughout (despite the fact they rarely share the screen together.
) My main problem with the film is the same problem I had with "Hello, My Name Is Doris": I didn't like the protagonist at all. Sure, Sarandon is a wonderful actor and her portrayal of the character is great, but that doesn't mean that I liked her character.
Overall, it's decent and sweet at times, but it was not something I thought it was going to be.
