Review of The Mauritanian (2021) by Jluis_001 — 14 Mar 2021
There is a great feeling of detachment between the story that is supposed to humanize its lead subject, and how this film is more interested in building its narrative as a thriller that seeks to manipulate the facts.
The main actors, especially Jodie Foster, Tahar Rahim and Benedict Cumberbatch manage to keep you connected with the story, because otherwise there's very little that does justice to the true story from which this film draws its plot.
