Review of The Matrix Revolutions (2003) by Blake B — 26 Jan 2012
Everything that has a beginning has an end. Now that the machines have uncovered the location of Zion, the 250,000 invading Sentinels are drilling down to the last human city that is hidden near the Earth's core and all of its inhabitants including Morpheus and Niobe are defending it from destruction. Meanwhile, Neo and Trinity fight in the smoking ruins of the futuristic real world, culminating with the final duel with the Agent Smiths. Can Zion and the rest of humanity be saved?
Directed by brothers Andy and Larry Wachowski, 'The Matrix Revolutions' features great acting performances from the following cast:
1.) Keanu Reeves (Neo Anderson).
2.) Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus).
3.) Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity).
3.) Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith).
4.) Jada Pinkett Smith (Niobe).
"Everything that has a beginning has an end." Well, when man can have their final battles with evil cyberpunk technology before returning to peace, whatever words Morpheus quoted there sets the conclusion of 'The Matrix' saga literally. That was it...I mean, that was definitely it, and I'm glad to have enjoyed my viewing experience of the final film well. But like 'Reloaded', 'Revolutions' isn't quite perfect to the flawless level: Sure the sci-fi coolness that fans gained back in the first chapter remained, and so do the slow-mo special effects (SFX), it was like the action slowed down again with the strange brew of action, drama, and dialogue. Despite this I really liked how Neo engages in his final fight with the hundred Agent Smiths in what is my best mind-blowing moment of the film - ever - and I'll never forget that. If confusion kept me wondering why the 'Revolutions' ever took place during my first viewing, then I'll have to wait for my next viewing to see if my perspective of the actions gets better, worse, or stays the same.
