Review of The Matrix Reloaded (2003) by Brett H — 09 May 2014
Over-blown step down from the greatness of the first film where not much of merit happens in between the action and contains some of the most pretentious and quasi-philosophical dialogue ever put to film.
Still, the fight choreography and special effects are beyond amazing in the Agent Smith fight and the exhilarating freeway chase is one of the greatest action scenes of the past 20 years. The problem is that the film seems like one big showcase for the 100 million special effects budget, and not a proper continuation of the Matrix lore.
A lot of the character interaction comes off stiff this time around and it's nowhere-near as exciting as its predecessor. And I have to mention the stupidest scene in the film with two words: Cave Rave.
