Review of The Matrix Reloaded (2003) by Andrew B — 10 Dec 2015
After the success of The Matrix and the mind-blowing special effects that made the movie a gigantic hit across the world, I was sure that a sequel would be a let down as most sequels are. I was completely mistaken when it came to The Matrix Reloaded.
Not only is it just as good as the first one, when it comes to pure action and entertainment it is actually better. I am not sure if they had a trilogy in mind when making the first film, but it sure seemed to set everything up real nice for a follow up.
The Wachowski brothers give their ground breaking special effects steroids in this movie and bush the bar even higher. Matrix Reloaded has a solid plot and story as well, although more complicated than the first movie there are many layers to what is going on and why they are going on.
There is also the introduction of some new really great characters. Matrix Reloaded for my money contains one of the best action sequences in any movie I have ever seen. A highway chase that just leaves your jaw hitting the floor.
Well worth a watch if you enjoyed the first one.
