Review of The Matador (2005) by Leo K — 10 May 2008
The Matador was a smart dark comedy about a traveling hit man (Brosnan) losing his touch, and a down-on-his luck salesman who he befriends (Kinnear). The hit-man is a socially awkward jerk but Brosnan portrays him in an endearing and comic way.
The chemistry between the actors was what made the movie work most. The story isn't heavy on subplots and characters so the movie ends up being relatively short, but that works great as a comedy. I recommend this for a fun time.
