Review of The Matador (2005) by Megan O — 16 Sep 2010
I avoided The Matador for years, because, for some reason, Pierce Brosnan's name has always seemed synonymous with "boredom." But since seeing him in The Ghost Writer, I've opened up to him a bit, and finally became amenable to watching The Matador.
I must admit, I am impressed. Brosnan does a fantastic job as the off-beat hitman who finds himself in a mid-life crisis. The film is fun, fresh, well-paced, and original, with memorable performances and a quirky screenplay.
I'm glad I finally gave it a chance.
