Review of The Mask of Zorro (1998) by James R — 08 Jan 2012

This movie is awesome! It's a nice retelling of the Zorro series. This time around it features Anthony Hopkins as the original Zorro and his pupil is Antonio Banderas a street thug who becomes refined.

The movie is really good because of the performances. Anthony Hopkins steals every scene he is in its just that cool to see him up there. It has some great sword fighting in the film and the plot is actually quite good with a theme centering around fighting for what's right.

There are some corny scenes such as certain scenes with Carherine Zeta-Jones character which I understand was the comedic relief, but I would have liked to see a bit of a more serious tone. Definitely, check this one out!
