Review of The Mask of Zorro (1998) by Witt R — 28 Mar 2015
I loved this movie. Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas brought a level of Shakespearean badassery (if that makes any sense) to this character. I remember watching the old black and white movie, and this updated version was not only loyal to the original source material, but expanded upon it brilliantly.
They combined the best elements of Zorro with a great touch of The Count of Monte Cristo. Great, great action movie that pays a great homage to the swashbuckling movies of the 40's and 50's.
