Review of The Mask of Zorro (1998) by Mike M — 23 Feb 2014
A rousing reimagining of the Zorro mythos with an aging masked avenger (Hopkins) training - and unleashing - a younger, less-experienced black-masked do-gooder (Banderas) to aid the people of early Mexico and avenge an old personal score.
Fantastic fun and adventure with masterful action choreography and inspired performances from all involved. This is the way to tell a tale with reverence to the source material, even while switching things up.
