Review of The Mask (1994) by Dexter M — 03 Jan 2015
Jim Carrey shines, as always. The Mask is based on Dark Horse Comics' published series of comic books. One rough night, Stanley Ipkiss finds a mask in the water under a bridge. He puts it on and wakes up the next morning to find loads of cash piling out of his closet.
Realising with time that he couldn't get rid of the mask, it changed his life forever. The Mask is funny, smart, and cartoon-ish. Only Carrey could take on a role like this and play it the way he did.
His outstanding performance helped shape the iconic character of Stanley Ipkiss. This is a classic film and remains to be a classic in cinema for all of time.
