Review of The Mask (1994) by Kevin S — 27 Aug 2013
Jim carrey plays as Stanley Ipkiss.
Who is a banker who gets used and mistreated by everyone. While coming home and his car breaks down on a bridge he thinks he sees someone in the river who needs rescued and comes upon an ancient mask that when he puts it on he has special powers and after he stops a bank from being robbed gets involved with a bunch if bad guys lead by Darion who wants to impress a club owner and wants to take over. I think it's a pretty inventive story led with some great talent of actors. Some of it is over the top but its still a very fun movie. A lot of people don't care for Jim Carey because he goes a little overboard with the comedy but this is still one of his greats. He makes it worthwhile to watch and always guarantees some good laughs. And he defiantly does wonders here.
