Review of The Mark of Cain (2007) by Private U — 09 Jun 2008
Fantastic. I didnt know what to expect. There was a huge uproar surrounding this movie, especially as it dealt with Iraq torture whilst British soldiers were in capture of Iraq militants. From a political stand point, Mark of Cain is a very risky project.
From a commercial stand point, Mark is also risky, but has an important message and pulls no punches. At times it is brutal and other times it is frail and vulnerable. The cast, a bunch of unknowns, are utterly convincing as the soldiers placed in a hot pot of vengaence and consequence.
This movie needs due consideration.
