Review of The Manchurian Candidate (1962) by Robert D — 04 Aug 2013
The cinematography was clever and well composed for most part, but Lionel Lindon seemed to let some images linger softly, like on Sinatra's face during pivotal scene; how distracting! Laurance Harvey chewed some scenes a bit, but the rest of the cast were wonderful, including Frank Sinatra.
Frankenheimer does surprise you with great dramatic beats.
