Review of The Man Without a Past (2002) by Tibor B — 21 Sep 2007
Great low-key Finnish drama / romance with a wonderful deadpan comic style. A man, M, is left for dead by muggers on his arrival in Helsinki. Having lost all memory of his past, he pulls his life together and starts a new life living with the cities tramps in a container park, and embarks on a delightfully restrained romance with Salvation Army worker Irma.
Film is slow going despite short length and has no particular story as such, but if you're willing to drift along with it , it's an endearing trip. And watch out for the killer attack dog.
