Review of The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) by James O — 01 Jun 2011
Not the worst bond movie, but far from the best. Actually, the worst part of this movie may be the theme song. But this is really when the wink-wink Bond came into his own, and I guess it was a bit of the times that created it. This movie is all post 69 and enter fun disco 70s. But it makes it a bit awkward when it is in the Asia. Not too much of it seem right.
But the real problem this movie has other than being jokey is that it is a really fragmented story that doesn't have something really diabolical about it. So with that benign step off, this movie doesn't do much of anything.
It does have that amazing car stunt in it, but that's negated by the return of the annoying sherrif. This movie didn't need a Jar Jar.
