Review of The Man with the Golden Arm (1955) by Robert P — 18 Aug 2009
The best performance I've seen from Frank, and reputably his favourite role. The movie is a heartfelt depiction of life among the low lifes. Packed with the tragedy of broken dreams and false hope endemic to the poverty trap.
Avoids the corniness of anti-drug propaganda by being honest and without casting too much judgement.
