Review of The Man Who Would Be King (1975) by Ike O — 16 Jul 2007
Connery. Caine. Plummer thrown in for good measure. A rousing adventure tale of men who set out to be kings and ended up as gods. Adventures (and films) aren't made like this anymore. And what great dialog - forget what obsessive QT fans have to say, the English write the best dialog.
Case in point: "We're teaching you the fine art of soldiering. When we're thru with you, you'll be able to stand up and slaughter your enemies like civilized men".
