Review of The Man Who Would Be King (1975) by Anna B — 30 Aug 2010
A great, pure, swashbuckling adventure story. Sean Connery and Michael Caine play two soldiers in British India, best friends and Freemasons (thatâ??s important), who set out on their own journey to a remote middle eastern land to ingratiate themselves with the locals, lead them to war against enemy tribes, and then take over as kings.
While obviously about the arrogance of British imperialism, this movie is also just very funny, thrilling and fun.
