Review of The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) by Baby Jane H — 27 Feb 2009
To call it the Coen's love-letter to film noir might make it seem like a hollow genre experiment. Billy Bob Thorton's attempt to completely live up to the title makes the genre-love into something more modern and interesting.
Add in some great supporting performances from Richard Jenkins and Tony Shalhoub, and it's another satisfying, if understated film from the Coens.
