Seemingly the most underrated film by the Coen Bros. This is a pitch-perfect 1950s film noir, made in the 2000s. Great characters, acting, script, direction, cinematography, and plot twists. There really isn't anything in this entire movie that didn't work.
Everything from the UFO subplot to Birdy's piano playing to Freddy Reidenschneider to dry cleaning -- like all great movies, this film creates a world that is complete within itself.
