Review of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) by Josh B — 01 Oct 2007
Possibly the best pure film of either Wayne or Stewart's career. Putting them together and casting them as opposing viewpoints but equally correct characters was genius. Both men are fully right and both are fully wrong.
Watching them grudgingly work together to fight evil and fear is fantastic. Watch for the subtle emotion in both the leading men and especially in Vera Miles' performance as the love interest they both fight for! Don't miss it, Pilgrim!
