This was John Ford's 135th movie, & a reflection of sorts on the western legends that made him so famous. A story of an attorney (Jimmy Stewart) who rises the political ladder & the gunslinger (John Wayne) who saved his life.
It turns out legend is better than truth in this seamless western classic.
