This is one of John Ford's final films, and also one of his greatest achievements. It should be a tradition to watch this at least once a year in every household. It is easily the greatest film ever made on the subject of bullying.
Lee Marvin makes Liberty Valance one of the greatest, and most hateful villains to ever appear on film. There could not have been a more perfect film than this to mark the final collaboration of John Ford and John Wayne.
It is the perfect swan song to mark the end of what is arguably the greatest Actor/Director collaboration in the history of cinema. Movies don't get better than this.
