"What good has reading and writing done you? You're in an apron...".
John Ford, director of The Grapes of Wrath, Stagecoach, The Searchers, The Last Hurrah, Rio Grande, The Fugitive (1947), and Up the River, delivers The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. The storyline for this picture is very well done. The plot is straightforward, but the characters are dynamic and well written. The acting is also awesome and the cast includes James Stewart, John Wayne, Vera Miles, Lee Marvin, John Carradine, and Lee Van Cleef.
"No courage left? Courage can be purchased at yon tavern.".
This is an obvious all time classic western with a classic villain and wonderful character and the perfect delivery of the storyline. The ultimate resolution was excellent and the overall premise was fascinating. This is definitely a must see for fans of the genre and a must have for your DVD collection if you enjoy westerns.
"Hey pilgrim, you forgot your popgun.".
