Review of The Man Who Never Was (1956) by Andrew W — 25 Sep 2012
A well tailored story based upon a real event with cameos by many well known character actors. Well thought out scenes such as the dressing of the corpse in a basement morgue whilst the blitz can be heard above.
Looks good in wide screen and benefits from a number of strong performances such as the doomed relationship between Gloria Grahame and William Russell. Finally, an excellent performance by Stephen Boyd as the Irish agent sent to authenticate the story.
