Review of The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) by Midhush I — 29 May 2008
Not nearly as good as Hitchcock's other thrillers (Vertigo, Rear Window, Psycho, North By Northwest), although by any other director's standards, they would probably dream of making a film like this.
However, this film lacks spark and tension , until it gets to the ending sequence in the Royal Albert Hall. James Stewart is at his impeccable best, playing the normal everyday man drawn into a complex murder plot, but Doris Day somehow doesn't quite work very well with Stewart.
