Review of The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) by Corey M — 11 Jul 2009
Made at the height of Hitchcock's power, I expected a lot out of this and even more since it's a remake of his own film. But this version felt limp, especially compared to the high energy of the original.
The plot keeps spinning its wheels but I kept waiting for some of those big set pieces Hitchcock would come up with. The only memorable scene I can think of is when the Stewart has the wrong address. Don't get me wrong, there are strong shots and the cast is entertaining enough.
But the whole film felt a little too wrote to enjoy. Check the original first between the two.
