Review of The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) by Liam U — 07 Jan 2013
Anyone who doubts the acting talents of Doris Day need look no further than the scene in this film where Jimmy Stewart tells her that their son has been kidnapped. It is painful stuff to witness but she nails it perfectly.
Beyond Day's performance the film as a whole a fun, suspense-filled ride with a number of memorable moments. I feel like it could probably move a little faster particularly the scenes in Morocco that seem to serve only as a travelogue for 1950s audiences, but those are also some of the film's most oddly charming moments so I can't knock them too hard.
