Review of The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) by Arin D — 04 Dec 2010
It was so near perfect that I was very disappointed it wasn't perfect. A little too much on the disturbing side, to the point where it is uncomfortable, and probably 30-45 minutes too long. The ending was teriffic, as was the beginning.
Earth is depicted as such a dreary place, which indeed it can be. The message came through for me, whereas it didn't for a lot of critics. Easily one of the better of Roeg's movies.
