Review of The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) by Jessica Q — 08 Dec 2012
"The Man Who Fell to Earth" is a dull, slow, emotionless bore that is crushed under the weight of Nicolas Roeg's narcissistic direction. It's a repetitive mess of artsy sex scenes, inane dialogue, questionable editing and underacting from all of its performers.
David Bowie isn't interesting to watch for a second, let alone two hours. Granted, it does have an interesting concept, but don't let that fool you. There are less than three minutes of science-fiction in the entire thing.
