Review of The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) by Steve W — 15 Aug 2016
David Bowie is ethereal as Thomas, a space alien humanoid who lands on Earth and is looking for water. He makes a technological juggernaut, but reveals his identity to a love interest and scientist. The movie ends up becoming a cautionary tale to capitalism, but its undercut by the betrayal of the protagonist instead of steady decline.
Its a trippy and weird film, but not without its flaws.
